Unit 6 - Task 2.2

To begin with, I attempted to make an anaglyph image using photoshop, I took an image of my friend, Emily, and followed the tutorial I found on the internet. Here are the steps I followed: 

1. Open your image up in Adobe Photoshop.

2. Right-click on the background layer and duplicate the layer.  

3. Click 'Layer' on the toolbar at the top of the page.

4. Click 'Layer Styles'

5. Click 'Blending Options'

6. On the pop up click on the square with the 'R' next to it to deselect the 'Red'.

7. Once back on the image, make sure you're on the arrow tool, and then click on the image and drag it to the right. 



Seeing as this technique worked, I shall use this to create my final 3D digital piece.

Sequence of Decay GIF To make this GIF I froze rose petals in water, put the ice block onto the plate and used my camera to take the images. Then I took photos of the ice melting every 5 seconds and then I uploaded my images into photoshop and I made them into a GIF. If I were to do this experiment again I would leave the rose petals and water in the freezer for longer just so I did not have the visible water trapped in the ice.

CAROUSEL WEEK 4. Patterns & Printing. On Tuesday 3rd October, we were working in the art rooms. When we sat down in the room, the teacher explained that we would be using different types of media and creating patterns on white and black paper. We were told different emotions, shapes, songs and we had to make a series of patterns on the paper the related to how the emotion & song made us feel. We used biros, pencils, graphite pencils, chalk and charcoal. The first emotion was anger, using the graphite pencil, the marks made were very thick and very dark and very heavy. The next emotion was joy using a pencil, these marks were quite soft and light, there was a  massive comparison between the anger and joy markings. Printing In The Darkroom On Tuesday the 17th October, I went into the darkroom and I began to print my negatives into larger images. First of all, we had to be told how to print our images, so that we knew what to do. We first had to make sure that the board that the light projected onto was set up correctly. We then had to insert our negatives into the enlarger, we then had to turn the light on and turn the brightness up and focus the image using the focus finder, to do this we had to put the focus finder onto the image and if the image looked grainy, it means that it is in focus. We could then start testing the prints. We had to cut a sheet of our photographic paper in half (lengthways) and then use these two strips of paper as test strips. We put a test strip into the board and then turn the light on and move a piece of cardboard across the paper every 10 seconds.
