Lumen Pinhole Experiment

Unfortunately, I did not get an outcome for my lumen pinhole experiment as something went wrong whilst it was exposing and when I took the paper out of the can, there wasn't anything on the paper. I am unsure of what went wrong as I made sure the can was set up properly, there was no water in the can and the paper was in the right place. This was dissapointing as I was looking forward to seeing the results.

Sequence of Decay GIF To make this GIF I froze rose petals in water, put the ice block onto the plate and used my camera to take the images. Then I took photos of the ice melting every 5 seconds and then I uploaded my images into photoshop and I made them into a GIF. If I were to do this experiment again I would leave the rose petals and water in the freezer for longer just so I did not have the visible water trapped in the ice.

CAROUSEL WEEK 4. Patterns & Printing. On Tuesday 3rd October, we were working in the art rooms. When we sat down in the room, the teacher explained that we would be using different types of media and creating patterns on white and black paper. We were told different emotions, shapes, songs and we had to make a series of patterns on the paper the related to how the emotion & song made us feel. We used biros, pencils, graphite pencils, chalk and charcoal. The first emotion was anger, using the graphite pencil, the marks made were very thick and very dark and very heavy. The next emotion was joy using a pencil, these marks were quite soft and light, there was a  massive comparison between the anger and joy markings. We carried on with this until we had all of our markings. Once we had done this, we had an A3 sheet of paper and we split it into sections and copied our markings into each section. Printing In The Darkroom On Tuesday the 17th October, I went into the darkroom and I began to print my negatives into larger images. First of all, we had to be told how to print our images, so that we knew what to do. We first had to make sure that the board that the light projected onto was set up correctly. We then had to insert our negatives into the enlarger, we then had to turn the light on and turn the brightness up and focus the image using the focus finder, to do this we had to put the focus finder onto the image and if the image looked grainy, it means that it is in focus. We could then start testing the prints. We had to cut a sheet of our photographic paper in half (lengthways) and then use these two strips of paper as test strips. We put a test strip into the board and then turn the light on and move a piece of cardboard across the paper every 10 seconds.
